About Sal Lifrieri

Sal Lifrieri, CEO and President of Protective Countermeasures and Consulting, Inc., served as the Director of Security and Intelligence Operations for the Office of Emergency Management under Mayor Rudolph W. Guiliani from 1996 to 2001.

A 20-year veteran of the NYPD who earned the rank of "Detective First Grade," Mr. Lifrieri was also the head of the Protective Operations Unit of NYC's prestigious Municipal Security from 1994 to 1996 and was responsible for the personal protection of Mayor Giuliani, his family and other New York City officials. Other responsibilities included developing protocol for threat assessment and investigation; Establishing protocol for conducting site security surveys as related to all Mayoral appearances; and protecting critical NYC infrastructure and key public buildings

As the Director of Security & Intelligence Operations for the Office of Emergency Management, (OEM) Mr. Lifrieri was responsible for crisis and contingency planning for the city and a number of its larger corporate residents; Risk assessment and crisis/consequences planning for the city's key buildings and critical infrastructure; Coordination of intelligence and anti-terrorism operations with city, state, federal, and international agencies/countries; Design and construction of OEM's Operations Center.
