"Top of Show" Award; Community Action Network's 11th Annual International Media and Corporate Awards Competition, which honors outstanding solutions to community social problems.
- Of the 200 entries submitted in four different categories, only two others,
from the Republic of Singapore and the Weyerhaeuser Corporation, were bestowed
this special "Top of Show" award.

Glenn, the Chairman of the Community Action Network (CAN), this campaign was especially honored "because many other communities around the world will now be able to implement the unique and innovative way you chose to educate the public about the importance of hurricane and flood awareness and preparation."

The details of this campaign have published in CAN's "Solutions Library" reference
book, which features more than 1000 solutions to 20 universal problems that communities
face.

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani presented the campaign to the Mayor of Miami during his visit to Florida in the wake of Hurricane Bonnie in August 1998.
- The Director of Preparedness for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Region II Division (responsible for needs of the State of New York, the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Territory of the U.S. Virgin Islands) submitted the campaign to the National Hurricane Conference for consideration in their annual conference's "Outstanding Achievement Award" competition.
- The campaign was included in the Federal Emergency Management Agency's "Compendium of Exemplary Practices in Emergency Management", their annual directory of the year's best efforts from emergency management organizations around the nation.
